Story
Writing and playing music is an experience that very few people get to enjoy. Echofarm is lucky in a couple of ways. For one, every member in the four piece acoustic rock band writes and arranges their own music. Each has an idea for what the ideal Echofarm song would sound like and then when it's played in a group setting it changes slightly to allow the other players to make it their own. Another way the band is lucky is the fact that they have always played gigs and recorded CD's with their own original songs. They've played at some of Chicagoland's premier venues including Star Plaza, The Abbey Pub and The Beat Kitchen as well as recorded at some of the most prestigous studios available including Pumpkin Studios with Gary Loizzo (Styx, REO Speedwagon) and Studio Chicago (Smashing Pumpkins) The line-up has changed over the years but 3/4 of the original line-up has reunited for shows and a new CD. Eric Fine - Vocals/Guitars, Brian Fine - Guitars/Vocals and Jerry Snyder - Drums/Vocals were a part of the initial line-up when first put together back in 1999. Joining the group is Eric Hellman, a keyboard player who is also filling in to round out the low end. This is the first time a keyboard player has played with Echofarm. There is a huge creative energy when the four get into a room to play songs. Even some older,heavier songs have been re-worked in favor of the more subtle keyboard / acoustic rock influenced sound they now have. Echofarm is thrilled to be writing and playing again and expect to be doing it for a long time to come. Tentative plans have been made to enter Pumpkin Studios in early December to begin recording another demo with Gary Loizzo. Until then - E'Farm '09 and counting......
